Mealiqo is an independent software product for small meal-prep businesses, personal chefs and tiffin services. This website publishes the guides and costing examples behind it; the app itself lives at app.mealiqo.com.
Who is behind Mealiqo
Mealiqo is built and published independently. It is not owned by a food distributor, a packaging supplier, a payment company or a meal-prep franchise, and no supplier pays to appear in our articles. You can reach the people behind it at contact@mealiqo.com.
Why it exists
Most small meal-prep businesses run their week on a form builder and a spreadsheet. Dedicated meal-prep software tends to start at around $95 a month plus a fee on every order, or is sold only after a demo. Mealiqo is meant to be the simple step up from forms: honest per-meal costs, a weekly storefront and the lists you need on prep day, at a flat monthly price with no fee per order.
How we write and check articles
- One question per page. Each article answers one specific question, such as what a given meal costs to make or how much to charge per meal. We do not publish near-duplicate pages.
- Sourced numbers. Worked examples use sample ingredient, packaging and labour prices. Each price names its source and the month it was checked, so you can replace it with your own.
- Show the arithmetic. Costing pages walk through the full calculation: ingredients after yield, containers and labels, labour and overhead, then suggested prices at different food-cost targets.
- Rules come from the authority. When an article touches licensing, cottage-food rules, sales tax or food safety, it points you to the state or county office that sets the rule rather than summarising it from memory.
- No health claims. We do not publish nutrition, calorie, macro or allergen figures, and we make no health claims.
- Corrections. If you find an error or an outdated price, email us with the page and your source. We check it and update the page.
